Tania Chambers
Tania Chambers – Jury President


Tania Chambers is Chief Executive of Screen NSW and was previously Chief Executive of ScreenWest. She was appointed to the Advisory Board of the Asian Television Awards in 2007, 2008 and 2010, was a Jury Member of the Banff International Television Festival in 2000, 2001 and 2004 and has been a Faculty Member of the Asia-Australia Media Executive Leadership Program since 2006. In 2010 Tania was elected as a member of The International Academy of Television Art & Sciences.
Paul de Carvalho
Paul de Carvalho – Jury member


Paul de Carvalho is Director, Production Attraction at Screen NSW, responsible for marketing NSW as a Screen Production destination, including relationships with the vibrant film industries of Asia. Previously Paul was Manager of Fox Searchlight and Specialised Films and 20th Century Fox Film Distributors. Paul also co-founded the Sydney Asia Pacific Film Festival, which for three years was the only Festival dedicated to exclusively screening feature films from around Asia, including films such as Zhang Yimou’s Happy Times. Paul lived in Beijing for two years as Director of the international corporate affairs consultancy Hill and Knowlton.
Pauline Chan
Pauline Chan – Jury member


Reviewed as a ‘Premier Australian filmmaker’ by Time Asia Magazine a few years ago, Pauline Chan is a Sydney based film director/producer. Chan has served as Commissioner of the Australian Film Commission, Vice President of Multicultural Artist Alliance (NSW), Board Member of Australian Screen Director’s Association, and Jury Member of Asia Pacific Screen Academy Film Fund 2010. Chan has worked extensively in China and Hong Kong in the past few years, and is co-founder of Good Earth Films with offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Sydney. Chan's work includes Traps, Little White Lies, Rush Hours2, Belly of the Beast, UltraViolet. Her most recent work includes The Last Dragon (Producer), and Mei Mei (Director/Producer/co-writer); the latter has just completed principal photography. Both films were produced under the new Australian-China co-production official treaty with partner Zhejiang HengDian Production Company, were shot in Australia and China, and both films are due to be released in 2011 worldwide.
Ray Argall
Ray Argall – Jury member


A graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School, Ray has worked as a director, producer, DOP, editor and writer on features, short dramas, documentaries, and established a reputation as one of Australia's most innovative cinematographers on features such as Wrong World, The Prisoner of St Petersberg and Look Both Ways. Ray's feature, Return Home, received an AFI Award for best director, and was presented at numerous international festivals. He was a set-up director for the award winning ABC drama series SeaChange and MDA; and produced numerous music videos for Midnight Oil, Split Enz, Crowded House, and Hoodoo Guru’s among others. As President of the ADG he has represented Australian filmmakers in many forums, and presented discussions on the Australian industry and its filmmakers at festivals around the world.
lara Law
Clara Law – Jury member

Clara Law directing credits have received many international recognitions including Farewell, China (Special Jury Award Torino 1990), Autumn Moon (Golden Leopard Locarno Film Festival and Best Picture Award European Arts Theatres Association 1992), Temptation of a Monk (Grand Prix Creteil FF 1993), Floating Life (Silver Leopard Locarno and Grand Prix Gijon FFs 1996) The Goddess of 1967 (Best Actress Award Venice, Best Director Award Chicago, FIPRESCI Critics Award for best film Norway 2000), Letters to Ali (2004) and Like a Dream (opening film Hong Kong FF 2009). Her films had been invited to many festivals including Venice, Toronto, New York, Sundance, Locarno, London, Rotterdam and Pusan. She has been appointed a Jury Member of various film festivals including Locarno, Torino, Adelaide, Sydney and Hong Kong.
