The Sydney Chinese Film Festival is organized by Australia Chinese Film and Television Association (ACFTA) and China Film Promotion International (CFPI). It is officially supported by City of Sydney, Sydney Chinese Embassy, Screen NSW, and Australia Director Guild. As the largest Chinese film festival in Sydney, it successfully join the City of Sydney Chinese New Year external event which has been celebrated for 14 years and brings in more than 20 films each year from China to Australia since 2009. The Festival aims to promote Chinese films, cultural exchange and to demonstrate the five thousand years’ outstanding culture of China and seeks to help Australians to better understand China and to deepen the friendship between Australia and China through mutual understanding. This film festival is also expected to build up a platform for world-class international promotion of Chinese films and communication on professional levels between Australian and Chinese film industry. From 2011, the festival will star to nominate Golden Koala Award of Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Story and Best Director by Australia Professional institutions. |
